SEA Mission
Connecting Ideas, Knowledge and People
The Scituate Education Alliance (SEA) is committed to the belief that excellence in public education is essential to our entire community. Our schools will continue to excel only if they receive broad public support.
Our goal is to channel private support to public education. To make an investment shared by the community so that creative, innovative and informative programs will be offered to parents, teachers and students from grades PreK-12.

Who We Are & What We Do
Our Board of Directors is comprised of parents and teachers who volunteer their time to raise money and to offer grants for innovative programs and events.
SEA has introduced several initiatives in partnership with our schools and outside organizations over the last few years including:
Community of Concern - Coalition of parents, educators, and community leaders sharing ideas to help kids avoid risky behaviors.
Safe Routes 2 School - Encourages proactive, healthy, and safe alternatives for kids to walk, bike, or ride to school.
AlcoholEdu - An interactive program introduced as part of the Scituate High School health curriculum to help educate our children on the dangers and health issues concerning alcohol and drug abuse.
Kids Voting USA - A study of our democratic political system incorporated into the social studies curriculum led up to a mock election bringing the importance of political participation and civic responsibility to our middle and high school students.
Promise of Proactive Parenting (and Teaching) - Parent and teacher workshops, presented by renowned speaker and author Lynne Griffin, focusing on strategies to recognize and utilize how individual differences affect children’s behavior and learning.
Open Circle - An ongoing curriculum in Scituate schools introduces grade school children to conflict resolution skills with emphasis on listening, empathizing, compromise, and problem solving. SEA fosters an environment in which educators and parents come together to share ideas and discuss educational issues affecting Scituate. SEA’s goal is to sponsor one program each fall and each spring with the needs of the parent, teacher, and student communities in mind.
We all share in the responsibility of educating the children of Scituate. SEA participates
by offering new ways in which to prepare our children to live lives full of possibilities.
