A workshop sponsored by Scituate Education Alliance (SEA)
For parents of early adolescents with noted education consultant Libby Michaud
Tuesday, April 14th
7:30 - 9:00pm
Gates School Media Center
What's "normal" for this age?
Frustrated with how your child communicates with you?
Struggling with your "tween's" moods?
STUCK IN THE MIDDLE is a workshop designed as a follow-up to Jeff Yalden's presentation, (a teen and youth motivational speaker addressing all students at Gates on Monday April 6th), for parents to explore as well as to navigate the many parenting challenges during this time period. The middle-school years are known to evoke fear in parents, educators and kids. This seminar led by Libby Michaud will focus on coping with student's physical and emotional changes, promoting social and intellectual development, and building communication skills both at home and at school.
This will be a discussion based workshop designed to teach parents effective strategies for:
- Advocating for positive friendships and influences
- Improving communication both at home and school
- Empowering students to find their "island of competency"
- Understanding the many developmental changes
Please join Libby for an informative and frank discussion!
