Kids Under Pressure

Edward Hallowell is a graduate of Harvard University and Tulane Medical School. He is the founder of the Hallowell Center for Cognitive and Emotional Health in Concord, Massachusetts. The center treats individuals with anxiety disorders by combining the latest knowledge about the brain with what is understood about human behavior and how we learn. He is a senior lecturer at Harvard University and has authored several books, including:

Dr. Hallowell will address pressures faced by students of all ages: whether they are transitioning schools, taking the MCAS exams, taking college boards, or balancing homework and outside activities. Children must learn to manage stressful situations in order to lead productive lives. Dr. Hallowell will discuss the difference between "good stress" and "toxic worry"and give practical advice for dealing with worry when we recognize it in both ourselves and in our children.
